She even went out of her way to call different offices to accommodate his dental needs. Dr. Fred was very understanding and personable. Would definitely recommend. Arriving with a tooth fractured while chewing, I feared Invisalign was needed again. Despite being an Invisalign provider, after assessing my bite digitally and manually Dr. Fred found my repeating that expense was unnecessary which showed integrity. Dr. Fred is reachable when necessary and communication with his team is simple, effective and responsive. Each member of Smile Dentistry's team is caring, friendly and supportive of your dental health. Both the hygienist and Dr. Fred recommended personalized dental care tips. Dr. Fred's exam techniques and technology choices attest to his advanced education at UCSD and USC. He explains your film findings and treatment options in simple terms for sound and lasting results. Having TMJ, Dr. Fred examined my bite with articulating paper using the same methods as my Oral, Head and Neck Pathologist several counties away. I could not find a local practitioner skilled in these techniques. Dr. Fred took time fixing my bite to prevent further fractures without my feeling like a nuisance or rushed. Dr. Fred's digitizer results in crowns with a superior fit compared to standard impressions. When outside referral was necessary to other specialities, Dr. Fred personally ensured I received treatment soon and his entrusted network is equally advanced in training, technology and conscientiousness. All were in-network with my insurance which is uncommon. His welcoming other specialties' opinions further increased my trust. Each provider called me after major treatment checking on my recovery and answering questions. Dr. Fred and his team are kind, patient and considerate and the office is inviting. Earlier today, I started experiencing pain in my tooth and I was ready to be told the next appt would need to be after NYE, but I was very pleasantly surprised they decided to accommodate me within a few hours, and on their last day of work before closing for a few weeks for the holidays! When I first moved to San Diego in 2020, I was very worried about finding a new dental office because I've had bad experiences with others in the past. I tried this office and from the first visit to this very day, I have had amazing experiences with Dr. Harandi and the entire staff there. They are patient, understanding, kind, but also very efficient. My teeth cleanings are smooth and done in a very timely manner. I am surprised at how convenient going to this office really is. The front office ladies are the best and Amber is great! Dr. Fred is excellent at making sure that you are comfortable and not in pain during any procedure. He has a great, steady hand. I've had tried several dentists around town, but was never fully happy with the experience. Dr. Fred and his staff are fair and are never trying to up sale you any unnecessary services. They are always spot on with my dental needs and are able to fix anything before it gets too big. Amber is AWESOME!!! I get my teeth cleaned every four months. I have very sensitive teeth and she always makes sure to provide me with a pleasant, pain-free experience. Not to mention that she's very sweet and kind. I hate to admit it, but it had been seven years since I had seen a dentist, but my experience with Dr Fred was so amazing that I go every six months without fail. His staff is so warm and receptive and his office is so inviting, they make me feel very comfortable. They also have great communication and ensure that you know when your appointments coming up so you don't miss a thing. I have been coming to Dr Fred for eight years now, and everyone of my family now comes here and friends we have referred. Other offices were always trying to upsell us, and I was very uncomfortable with that. But I have never felt sold to in this office. I had a sore tooth last week I thought I was gong to need a root canal. Dr. Fred invited me in right away. After I described my symptoms Dr fred immediately diagnosed the problem as the cap simply needing a simple adjustment to correct the bite. The pain was relieved almost immediately and the toothache was gone within 24 hours. I was in and out of his office in 5 minutes. I highly recommend his service to anyone looking for a new dentist practice his service and staff are top notch! Scheduling was very easy and I was given multiple reminders for my appointment which made it easy to remember. I ended up needing a root canal, and the nice thing was is that everything could be done in house, I didn't have to be referred anywhere to be treated from start to finish. The process involves repeated visits to make sure it's working properly. I probably went there 8-10 times in the roughly 12 months it took to straighten out my teeth. After going to Dr. Harandi, I can say that I fully trust him and his staff. The front desk staff and dental assistants are very friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Harandi is great: he is friendly, informative, and cared about my comfort. I had to come in twice to get fillings, and Dr. Harandi and his staff did everything they could to make me feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. They constantly checked in on me to see how I was doing, made sure I was numb enough to not feel a thing, and even gave me a cool VR headset to watch Netflix while I was getting my filling. They knew I was in bad pain and squeezed me in that same day to be seen. I had been calling all over the place and couldn't get in anywhere, but smile dentistry got me in ASAP. The staff members were amazing and very sweet. This will definitely be my primary dentist from here on out. Elyse Y.17 June 2021I've always been bothered by my two particularly crooked front teeth, so I came here to see if I could get Invisalign done. Dr. Fred took a look and said Invisalign could definitely work, and also fix some crowding issues with a few of my other teeth, so we did a scan and ordered the first round of aligners. Every few weeks I went back for a quick check-in to make sure everything was going as intended. After the first round of aligners, Dr. Fred re-evaluated my teeth and we both felt like they still needed a little adjustment, so we went for another round. But the whole process took only about 7 months! Each check-in was quick and easy, and I'm very happy with the results. Now all of my front teeth are finally in line :)Posted on Yelp

Dr Fred Harandi is very skillful and takes great care and pride in his work; mine wasn't the easiest case and we had to deal with the healing cap falling out , infections and delays with the lab during the holidays. Throughout all this , Dr Fred patiently dealt with all the snags and even met up with me the day after Christmas Day to deal with the healing cap that fell out, even though his office was closed. This is the first place I went to and I have been going ever since. Everything about this Dentist is what you want and if you're reading this trying to find a dentist then stop looking and go here! I am resistant to numbing which is a big issue for me when I go to the dentist but Dr.Fred is attentive and actually listens to you when you are concerned about a procedure. I don't put off dentist appointments and I actually enjoy going! He is very much a professional and the assistants are fantastic! I will always refer my friends and family to him as he is the best dentist I have ever had. I've had crowns, fillings, and cleanings done here and have had excellent experiences each time. The second reason this Dentistry is amazing is the front desk. Tom is amazing. Biggest positive is he straightforward with your costs when you ask or even before you ask if the procedure has been suggested so you can have time to think about it. He is also very personable, he will ask how you are doing, make sure all the future scheduling is correct and will answer any questions you have right there on the phone or in the office. His response rate is high and he works with you whenever there is a problem. Honestly, if you made it this far in the review give Tom a call, schedule a visit, and you won't regret it. Tom, Dr. Fred's brother manages the business and you can feel the care and welcoming nature of a family owned business. Dr. Fred is attentive and very, very skilled. The cleanings are thorough and comfortable. I did recently have 2 cavities that Dr. Fred treated. Shots at the dentist are usually stressful but Dr. Fred's method is painless and quick. My fillings feel natural and allow for smooth flossing. This dentistry is amazing. What do you expect from a dentist that graduated from UCSD and USC? 2 of the top and reputable universities in the nation. I got a crown to replace an old, cracked veneer and I can honestly say this is the best crown I've had (compared to my other crown and the previous veneer shape/quality). The shape is perfect, it doesn't look or feel like it's fake at all, and they match the color perfectly. Everyone that works here is awesome and friendly. Taylor H.18 August 2020Wow, where do I begin? Dr. Fred is a Godsend! He saved me from spending thousands on unnecessary dental work and it was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. Living in PB for the last 5 years I had always gone to PB Smiles for my routine cleanings and checkups (out of convenience) and always had a totally different staff and experience. This last time I went in to that office was this June during Covid and I also wanted to find out about getting crowns on my front teeth. This crackpot dentist- Dr. Tarighati- told me that I needed about $6k worth of work on fillings to be replaced that for some reason my insurance wouldn't cover and then was going to charge another $5k for 4 crowns. I decided to do some research to find a good dentist for a second opinion and came across Dr. Fred. I saw all his positive reviews and called his office and requested a free consultation to review what PB Smiles had told me and they were happy to do so. Basically Dr. Fred broke it down that I was about to get completely ripped off. All I really needed were 2 fillings replaced and Dr. Fred was able to do that and 6 crowns for literally half of what the other office quoted me. Besides saving me a ton of money, his bedside manner is absolutely terrific, and being like the majority of the population that isn't fond of visits to the dentist it really made all the difference. Also, I loved that I saw the same people each time I went in! Tom was so great with all the financial and scheduling stuff and they couldn't have been more accommodating. I regret that I never got Dr. Fred's assistant's name, but he was there every visit throughout the process and was such a doll! He brought me a blanket when I mentioned I was cold during the longest session and in general was always very considerate of my comfort. Today I just paid off the remainder of my balance and I love my teeth and have gotten so many compliments on how great they look! CANNOT recommend this office enough!Posted on YelpPaul S.14 August 2020Each time I have gotten my teeth cleaned here, everything from the service at the front desk to the knowledge and care of Dr. Harandi and the dental assistants have made for an overall very positive experience. The front desk staff (Tom and two others whose names I didn't catch) have always been kind and professional to me. Even when there was a billing misunderstanding at one point, I never felt like they "took off their smiley masks" or treated me less than any other patient. They went FAR ABOVE AND BEYOND in dealing with my particular situation. Then there are the dental assistants who were SO friendly. Being in the chair can oftentimes be uncomfortable because of awkward silence and forced conversation. But each time I have had an appointment with SD Smile, the dental assistants made me feel really comfortable by conveying a genuine interest in me as a person (such as asking more personalized, unconventional questions). It should also be of no surprise then that they are thorough (but gentle) in their cleaning procedure and x-ray setup. I really appreciated Dr. Harandi's attention to detail. For example, due to my teeth enamel thinning out, he gave very specific recommendations that would help preserve that enamel layer and therefore also protect the roots/nerves. I was really impressed that this was the first time I had ever gotten this assessment from a dentist and am thankful for Dr. Harandi pointing it out. The whole office is very clean and presentable, with hot teas and cool water offered in the lobby. The last time I was there, they even had a fun 3d puzzle that I imagine is for the kids but I ended up spending my entire time in the lobby playing with it myself! I honestly think that Dr. Harandi's dental practice has a strong, caring and knowledgable team and that's why most parts of my experience have been remarkable. First, you are greeted and checked in by Tom who is super friendly and makes you feel so welcome. Then I got my cleaning done by Carlie, who is very detailed and cleans your teeth to a T, without any uncomfortable mouth positions or instruments pushing in your mouth, there was seriously no discomfort and my teeth feel spic and span. And then Dr. Harandi checked everything, made sure all looked good and what we might want to consider on the next visit. This is a very well put together team which made for a very pleasant experience. I have to say Dr. Fred is very responsible, has great techniques, and really cares about your dental health. He always follow up the next day of my every visits during implantation. He answers all my concerns with great patience. I remember there was one time I got a sudden toothache and contact Dr. Fred off hours (I guess very early in the morning), and he tried his best to fit me in his busy schedule. Dr. Fred Harandi made me feel so at ease and didn't pressure me like a lot of other dentists did. He answered all of my questions honestly, and genuinely wanted me to make the best decision for myself based on what I wanted. Before even starting the process, he had the lab create a wax up smile model so that I could have a better image of how my teeth would look afterwards. With the wax up smile model, I was able to try the smile in my mouth temporary and decided what I like and what I wanted to change. Once I was happy with the wax up smile, I decided to go ahead with the dental procedure. During the prep day, I was nervous and scared that it might be painful. Dr. Harandi and his assistant eased my thought by explaining the procedure to me. He assured me that I won't feel anything as I would be numb during the procedure. They made me feel so comfortable and even gave me a blanket, along with headphones to watch a movie or listen to music; while he worked on my teeth. It was very a nice touch and at the end of my appointment, I left the office with temporary veneers which already looked better than my original smile. At my next visit when the veneers came back from the dental lab, I was worried that they would look fake or not be the right color. Before cementing them, Dr. Harandi try them in my mouth so that I could see if I like them first. When he gave me the mirror to check, all my concerns about the appearance went away. The permanent veneers look even better than what I imagined it would turn out!! I am happy with the shape, the color and the appearance over all. My veneers ended up having just the right amount of translucency so that when the light reflects and passes through the teeth, it gives that natural stunning appearance. Having the right translucency will avoid the fake look "chiclet look". I love that my veneers are white and bright but still look naturally stunning. Dr. Harandi also assure me that these are permanent, which meant the color won't change overtime. I have had my veneers for 2 months now and I couldn't be happier. We started the procedure in the middle of Covid-19 and I want to say I felt safe and in good hands during each visit to the office. Since getting these veneers, I feel extremely confident and I can't stop smiling. My veneers feel like my natural teeth and also my smile alignment is now straighter and without any gaps between the teeth. For anyone who is considering getting veneers I highly recommend San Diego Smile Dentistry. He was patient and helpful as I rescheduled a few times due to COVID-19 related work changes. I was greeted with a warm welcome, a quick check in, and no wait time. It was clear (even prior to my apt) that the office has a seamless and safe COVID-19 protocol in place. Dr. Fred spent more time with me at my first visit than any Dentist ever has (which to me, showed incredible patient care). The staff is super friendly and professional. Turns out I had to replace a filling and of course the dental plan under Covered California doesn't pay for treatments until after 6 months (WTF am I paying for?!) but they gave me a really good cash discount price that was affordable. The dentist also used this machine for the anesthetic that was virtually pain free and super targeted so my whole mouth and tongue wasn't numb. Did not wait long and had my exam done by Ahmed the dental assistant who also super friendly. Ask me what brought me in and felt like he was genuinely concerned about by symptoms. Dr Fred was also great! He examined closely and gave me thorough explanation of what might be causing my pain. Will be returning to get my cavities filled.
